The Mint 400 announced today that The Great American Off-Road Race™ will put up $125,000 as a guaranteed prize purse in 2020, nearly doubling the payback structure in previous years. The new model will allow all classes, regardless of pro or sportsman status, to compete for cash at the world’s most prestigious off-road race. A complete breakdown of the prize purse by class will be published in the coming weeks and include a thorough registration guide, listing entry fees, tracking/transponder information and all other information needed to register for the 2020 race.
“We are thrilled to offer a guaranteed $125K to the winning race teams in 2020,” commented Mint 400 CEO, Matt Martelli. “This new model nearly doubles the cash paid to our racers compared to the old payback method. But this is just the starting point. We will also be securing class sponsorships over the next four months that will further increase these purses.”
The Mint 400 will be actively engaging with industry leaders to sponsor specific classes in exchange for premium marketing packages. Brands and businesses that become class sponsors will receive preferred onsite placement at The Mint 400 Off-Road Festival and at the Official Mint 400 Primm Valley Start/Finish Line, be featured heavily in the live stream and receive custom branded content for their sponsored class after the race.
“In its heyday, The Mint 400 was always known as one of the largest prize purse races in the sport. We’re excited to restructure how we reward our podium finishers at The Mint, in an effort to regain that title,” said Mint 400 COO, Josh Martelli. “We have always had a tremendous amount of support from our sponsors and partners, and we’re confident that class sponsorships will increase the prize purses dramatically as well. This is a great way for companies and brands to come in and take ownership of classes they produce products and offer services for.”
A complete Mint 400 Driver Registration guide will be published in the coming weeks on the Mint 400 website at www.themint400.com/register.
