2022 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Off-Road Festival Takes Over Downtown Las Vegas
As it does every year, Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas became Mint 400 Boulevard on Thursday, as the 2022 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 Off-Road Festival brought tens of thousands of off-road competitors, exhibitors, and fans to the heart of the city. The annual showcase of the leading products in the sport, driver meet-and-greet sessions, and tech and contingency procedures is the final major event before the event migrates south to Primm for two full days of racing on Friday and Saturday.
“Bringing the off-road racing action and culture to the people is a huge part of what makes the BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 what it is,” said Mint 400 CEO Matt Martelli. “The Mint 400 Off-Road Festival is an essential part of that each year, as the city of Las Vegas graciously allows us to turn Fremont Street into the center of the off-road racing world before we get into the racing itself. We can’t thank our competitors, sponsors, exhibitors, and most of all the tens of thousands of off-road fans who stopped by enough for all of their support, and hope to see everyone in Primm for two full days of racing on Friday and Saturday!”
Running from 9AM to 6PM, the Mint 400 Off-Road Festival showcases the best and brightest in the off-road industry. With dozens of activations throughout Fremont Street, it’s the best opportunity of the year for off-road fans to get autographs and take photos with their favorite drivers, check out the newest and best products from the sport’s top suppliers, and pick up signature gear from iconic brands. On sale throughout the day were official Mint 400-licensed products of all types, ranging from hats and T-shirts to limited edition annual collaborations celebrating this year’s edition of the Great American Off-Road Race.
Throughout the midway, hundreds of cars, trucks, UTVs, motorcycles, and more that will take on the even in Primm on Friday and Saturday made their way through tech and contingency. The staging line allowed fans who made a day of the event to see, hear, and even touch just about every machine that will take on this year’s Mint 400.
The Mint 400 has held the title of the toughest, most spectacular off-road race in North America since 1968 when it was first run. Initially, the race was a public relations event promoting the Mint Hotel’s annual deer hunt, but what started out as a hotel promotion soon grew into a legitimate desert race. Since its 2008 revival, “The Great American Off-Road Race” has only gotten bigger and more prestigious, and deeper fields every year only make it tougher to win.
The 2022 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 continues in Primm on Friday with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Limited Race beginning at 9AM and Method Race Wheels Qualifying for the Unlimited classes at noon. Live streaming will be available at live.themint400.com starting at 8:30AM. More information on the event for racers and spectators is available at TheMint400.com, or follow the event on Facebook and Instagram.
