The multi-year sponsorship allows BFGoodrich to expand on the foundation built over the previous six years. To highlight their commitment, BFGoodrich is providing complimentary onsite tire service and race pit support to its racers. The BFGoodrich support trailer will be on site at the Mint 400 Off-Road Festival on Thursday, December 2nd providing tire mounting services to racers, then relocate to the Main Pit located in Primm, NV for pitting service during the race action on Friday and Saturday.
“No other brand has invested more into the sport of off-road racing than BFGoodrich Tires,” said Mint 400 CEO, Matt Martelli. “With their support over the years, The Mint 400 has grown into a signature, global motorsport event. Year after year, BFGoodrich has invested in our event through our full Schedule of Events and onsite activations. Their commitment to the Mint has been the key to our expansion and their continued support will undoubtedly enable our vision to come to life in future years.”
In 2020, two of the top three spots at the end of the race were held by BFGoodrich racers. Luke McMillin captured first place overall in the Unlimited Truck class, and Ryan Arciero took third place. Both were racing on 40-inch BFGoodrich® Baja T/A® KR3 tires. BFGoodrich racers Tim Herbst and Steve Olliges followed in fourth and fifth place respectively. Overall, BFGoodrich Tires took first place in eight different classes, including a podium sweep in Unlimited Truck SPEC, a first place finish in Class 1 and a first place finish in the UTV Rally Class by second-generation racer Jack Olliges on the BFGoodrich® Baja T/A® KR2 UTV tire.
“The Mint 400 has quickly re-established itself as the premier desert race in the United States. Each year hundreds of amateur and professional off-road racers descend on Las Vegas to tackle the notoriously difficult Nevada terrain,” stated Peter Calhoun, motorsports manager BFGoodrich Tires. “It continues to test the performance and toughness of BFGoodrich tires, while pursuing a victory on the course.”
With a 150-year legacy, BFGoodrich produces tough, durable and race-winning tires that offer unmatched traction and toughness and excel in the most precarious conditions. The brand has more off-road race victories than any other tire maker.
