BFGoodrich Tires Signs 5-Year Title Sponsorship Deal With The Mint 400
Tire maker expands support of the largest off-road race in North America

  • BFGoodrich Tires returns as Title Sponsor of The Mint 400 through 2024
  • BFGoodrich to offer a contingency prize of $25,000 to the Overall Winner racing on its tires
  • 2020 marks the sixth consecutive year of support for “The Great American Off-Road Race™”

The Mint 400 announced today it has signed a five-year deal with BFGoodrich Tires for the Title Sponsor of the largest off-race in North America. The brand that invented the all-terrain tire category will continue support of The Mint 400 and put its heritage of success in off-road racing behind The Great American Off-Road Race™ through 2024.

The multi-year sponsorship will allow BFGoodrich Tires to expand on the foundation laid the previous five years since first sponsoring the event in 2015. To highlight their commitment, BFGoodrich is offering a contingency prize of $25,000 to the overall winning team if that team races exclusively on its tires.

“No other brand has committed more to off-road racing than BFGoodrich Tires,” said Mint 400 CEO, Matt Martelli. “They literally invented the radial tire via their experience in off-road racing. They have also played a crucial role in helping grow The Mint 400 into a signature, global motorsport event. Year after year, they have invested in our festival and race through our full schedule of events and onsite activation opportunities to elevate The Mint 400 experience. Their commitment to the Mint has been the key to our expansion and their continued support will undoubtedly enable our vision to come to life over the next five years.”

The Mint 400 has earned the reputation for being one of the toughest and brutal racecourses in off-road racing. In 2019, the BFGoodrich® Baja T/A® KR3 took nine of the top 10 overall finishing positions, including Justin Lofton’s overall win in the Unlimited Truck class.

BFGoodrich also swept the podium in both Pro Turbo and Naturally Aspirated classes, taking the top spots on the BFGoodrich® Baja T/A® KR2 UTV tire. BFGoodrich took the top spots in multiple classes over the two days of racing, including Trick Truck, Class 1500, Class 6100, Class 1000, Class 6200, Class 7100, Class 8000, Class 7300, UTV Turbo, UTV Pro and UTV Sportsman.

“The Mint 400 is an iconic race that BFGoodrich has proudly supported for years. It is a natural progression for us to increase our commitment to the race as the technology and competition continues to advance. We’re looking forward to enabling our racers to reach the podium again this year,” said Tony Menard, Director of Motorsports, Michelin North America and BFGoodrich.

With a 150-year legacy, BFGoodrich produces tough, durable and race-winning tires that offer unmatched traction and toughness and excel in the most precarious conditions. The brand has more off-road race victories than any other tire maker.
