Bike Information

For the first time since 1976, the bikes will return to The Mint 400. Multiple classes will compete on a 80 mile singletrack course designed to challenge even the most seasoned desert moto racers. The event is expected to attract motorcycle racers from around the planet to battle it out for a chance to etch their name into the history books alongside the greats such as Casey Folks, Jack Johnson, J.N. Roberts, and Max Switzer. Included in the race are two vintage classes 1980 – 1990, and 1979 and older, as well as desert classes including pro motorcycle, expert motorcycle, amateur motorcycle, Ironman and newly minted father & son, women and relay team classes.

Bike Information:

  • How many miles is the race course?
    • All bike classes will compete on a 82 mile course, consisting mostly of singletrack and a small portion of the four wheel vehicle course.
  • How many laps are each classes doing?
    • 3 Lap Classes
      • Pro Motorcycle, Pro Open, Pro 300, Pro Over 30, Pro Over 40, Expert Motorcycle , Expert Open, Expert 300, Expert Over 30, Expert Over 40, Expert Over 50, Women’s Expert, Expert Ironman Motorcycle and Father & Son/Daughter Motorcycle Team.
    • 2 Lap Classes
      • All Amateur Motorcycle classes, Relay Motorcycle Team, Vintage Evolution – 1980 and older, Vintage Pre-Modern – 1981 to 1990 and Dual Sport Motorcycle.
  • How many miles are there between pits?
    • 28 miles from main pit to Pit A
    • 26 miles from Pit A to Pit B
    • 28 miles from Pit B back to Main Pit
  • What day are the motorcycles going through tech?
    • All bike classes will go through tech on Friday, March 8th.
  • What are the motorcycle rules?

    • The bike course will go be SPEC 1, SPEC 3 and SPEC 4.
