Motorsports Safety Solutions Returns to The Mint 400 in 2020
Over 50 Safety Professionals To Watch Over the Great American Off-Road Race™!

The Mint 400 announced today that Motorsports Safety Solutions will return to the Mint 400 in 2020 to oversee all aspects of safety, communications, and vehicle retrieval for all of the marquee events including two days of racing on the roughest race-course in America. The team of over 50 seasoned MSS safety professionals will once again be led by eight-year Mint 400 veteran and Director of Safety David Nehrbass. Motorsports Safety Solutions has been providing professional fire suppression, extrication, and first response medicine for extreme competitive motorsports events like the Mint 400 for nearly a decade. They provide their services to many of the US-based off-road race events, as well as drag races.

“David and his team have become an indispensable part of the Mint 400 family and we simply would not run this event or race without them,” said Mint 400 COO, Joshua Martelli. “Safety of our racers, course workers, spectators, the public, and our staff is the number one focus for us. Everything else comes second to that. We’ve been working with Motorsports Safety Solutions since we first purchased the Mint and it’s been a fantastic relationship that has really helped us as we’ve grown in both our footprint and the number of entries at the Mint.”

Nehrbass and his team have just completed work on a new custom dispatch and treatment command center built by Dana Pearce of Utilimaster, and their fleet now consists of both full-size off-road response trucks, UTV’s and motorcycles. Each year at The Mint 400 they coordinate rescue and emergency operations with all of the major medical and law enforcement agencies in Las Vegas and Clark County as part of their lead safety role.

“Over the past eight years the Martelli Brothers have grown the Mint from a one day race into a weeklong festival with multiple events, and they have tripled the number of race entries, so obviously we have had to grow with them,” said Mint 400 Director of Safety David Nehrbass. “We are very fortunate to have over 50 amazing safety professionals – all of them volunteers, who come out each year and donate their time and expertise to keep people safe at all of the Mint events and races themselves. Matt and Josh have really made safety their most important priority and it’s amazing to have the support from them to cover all of our bases out in the desert. We’re thrilled to be back in 2020.”

David and the group of Motorsports Safety Solutions staff will be on hand for all of the Mint 400 events beginning Saturday, February 29th for the third annual Republic Services Mint 400 Desert Cleanup thru two exciting days of racing on Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th.
