Nick Carolan takes overall win in Limited Class in Mint 400 unofficial results
Nick Carolan of Tuscon, Arizona took top honors in this morning’s Mint 400 Limited Race with an average speed of 53.146 mph, beating his nearest competitor across the finish line by nearly four minutes, according to unofficial results released by Best in the Desert.
Carolan, piloting the No. 2406 open wheel buggy running a Ford production 2.0L turbocharged Eco-Boost engine, clocked a 6:09:10 elapsed time, beating out Roger Starkey of Burbank, Calif., who crossed the finish line 3 minutes, 52 seconds later in his No. 1067, taking second overall and first in class.
Class 10 cars driven by T.J. Tuls, Jason Coleman and Bret Jeffers rounded out the top five, and Class 10 cars took 10 of the first 11 finishes in the morning race, according to the unofficial results.
Class 5 Unlimited VWs driven by John Willard and Mike Belk took 12th and 13th overall.
