RACE VEHICLE SPEED IN THE ALL PITS = 25 MPH
PIT CREW SPEED ON ALL ROAD LEADING TO THE PITS = 25 MPH

All pits at The Mint 400 are considered “hot pits”. Meaning, they are designated for race teams who are actively racing, and should be used for pitting operations only. Space is limited, please only use the space you need and make efficient use of the space. We’re all in this together!

PIT ACCESS REQUIREMENTS:

All crew members will be checked for Pit Crew Wristbands & Vehicle Pit Passes prior to pit entry.

1. VEHICLE PIT PASSESAny vehicle entering a pit must have a pit pass for the correct day.

There is only one Vehicle Pit Pass for each race day.
The Friday Vehicle Pit Pass will get your vehicle into all three pits on Friday.
The Saturday Vehicle Pit Pass will get your vehicle into all three pits on Saturday.

Cars/Trucks – Each Driver of Record will be issued (6) vehicle pit passes at on-site registration.
Motorcycles – Each Rider of Record will be issued (4) vehicle pit passes at on-site registration.

Pit passes must be displayed on the front windshield, on the upper passenger side of the vehicle window.

If you are moving into the pits early, it is your responsibility to put these vehicle pit passes on all vehicles moved in before race day.

Vehicle Pit Passes will be issued at onsite registration.

2. PIT CREW WRISTBANDSAny person entering a pit must have a Pit Crew Wristband.

New to 2023, Drivers of Record are required to register everyone in their pit, prior to the event.

Every person entering a pit must have a “Pit Crew” Wristband.  This includes children, who must have an adult with them at all times.

Teams needing pit access on race day must ensure all pit crew members have signed their waiver and get their Pit Crew Wristbands prior to entering the pit entrance.

Click here to purchase a Pit Crew Wristband.

  • Pit Crew Wristbands will grant you access into the Start/Finish Line Midway, so you do not need to purchase Midway tickets.
  • Pit Crew Wristbands will not grant you access to the Jean Spectator Areas. Support crews are not allowed in Jean spectating areas. Failure to follow these simple rules may result in penalties assessed to your race team.

Youth Parents – You do not need to register yourselves as Pit Crew.  You will just need a Waiver wristband as normal.

WAIVERS:

Registering your Pit Crew Members has nothing to do with signing our event waiver.  All racers, crew members and anyone entering any pit must sign our event waiver and be part of a race team. This includes children, who must have an adult with them at all times.

Adult Waiver – The adult event waiver is now available to sign on this page.

Minor Waiver – The minor event waiver is only available to sign in person, accompanied by their legal guardian.

PRE-RACE MAIN PIT MOVE IN:

New to 2023 – Because we are requiring teams to register their pit crew members, all classes may begin moving into the MAIN PIT beginning Wednesday, March 8th at 9am PST. Main pit only.

You do not need to check in with our Main Pit Captain.

You may not move into the remote pits until race day.

This is to alleviate a lot of the early morning stresses of setting up pits in the dark, the morning of the race, and allow adequate time for all teams to get set up and comfortable before race day. This will drastically improve traffic flow into the pits on race day.

You will receive your pit passes on Thursday, March 9th at race registration, and it is your responsibility to put these vehicle pit passes on all vehicles moved in before race day.

  • You will be required to check in with our Main Pit Captain prior to setting up your pit.
  • The Main Pit Captain will be positioned at the entrance to the pit.
  • The Main Pit Captain will assist you in getting placed.
  • Yes, if you are pitting multiple vehicles you will have multiple spaces. You will work with the Pit Captain so we are aware you are doing this.

Race Day Pit Move In (All Pits): Approximately one hour before the start of your race.
Race Day Pit Move Out (All Pits): Immediately after your race concludes.

Please Note – The Main Pit entrance will be manned 24/7 from Wednesday through Sunday morning. However please secure your belongings. We cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged items in the main pit.
