Off The Grid Surplus Joins 2021 BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 as Sponsor

Motor-driven apparel brand to partner with event for first time

Off The Grid Surplus will join the BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 as a partner for the first time in 2021, Mint 400 officials announced today. As part of its supporting sponsorship of the event, Off The Grid will be on hand at the Mint 400 Off-Road Festival in Las Vegas when race week kicks off in December.

“We have admired the Mint 400 for many years now and we are stoked to now partner with the race,” said Off The Grid CEO Bobby Klein. “It has been awesome connecting with the team, and know great things will come from the relationship.”

Off The Grid, based in San Diego, CA, is an outdoor adventure apparel brand with a focus on the motor-driven adventure lifestyle. Their products take the best features from outdoor, workwear, and tactical and put them into everyday wearable pieces.

Off The Grid was founded in 2012 by professional clothing designer, Josh Patterson. Josh’s work history includes Quiksilver, Rip Curl, DC Shoes, and most recently the Senior Men’s Designer at prAna. This is not your average outdoor apparel brand. Every product has design features made specifically for an off-road, adventure-ready audience. For example, Josh added a “top-of-leg”, water-resistant, zippered pocket to the Trailblazer Pro pant because he hated not having access to a protected pocket while in a race seat and harness.

The Mint 400 has held the title of the toughest, most spectacular off-road race in North America since 1968 when it was first run. Initially, the race was a public relations event promoting the Mint Hotel’s annual deer hunt. but what started out as a hotel promotion soon grew into a legitimate desert race. Since its 2008 revival, “The Great American Off-Road Race” has only gotten bigger and more prestigious, and deeper fields every year only make it tougher to win.
