The Loss of a Legend, Casey Folks
It is with a heavy heart and unimaginable sense of loss that we are sharing the passing of Casey Folks. Casey suffered a stroke doing what he loved best – preparing for the most professional, thrilling and safe off-road races in America.
Casey was much more than a race director – he was a loving partner to Diane, caring father to his children, and a grandfather of sorts to all of us who work in off-road racing. Having spent countless hours with Casey at work and play over the past ten years – we say with conviction he was in a class of his own.
We never met a more honest, hardworking and genuine human being. Casey was a steadfast supporter of our sport and routinely fought to protect our access to public lands – with no expectation of reward or thanks. All he asked is that we obey the rules, walk the talk, and pick up our damn trash! Our industry and culture was built in large part by Casey’s dedication and his influence will echo through us for decades to come.
Casey, we thank you, deeply, for your friendship, leadership, and mentorship. We promise to hold fast to the lessons you shared with us all over the years. To Diane and family, we are here for you – for whatever you may need to help navigate the tough times ahead.
From all of us in the off-road community, we love you, we will miss you already, and we will never forget you. Race in peace brother. BOOYA!
