The Mint 400 Announces New Two-Day Race Format
2019 Schedule of Events includes racing on
Saturday, March 9th & Sunday, March 10th
The Mint 400 owners Matt and Joshua Martelli announced today that “The Great American Off-Road Race™” will be return to Las Vegas on Wednesday, March 6th and run through Sunday March 10th, 2019. The already massive off-road festival will once again expand by featuring two days of thrilling off-road racing on both Saturday, March 9th and Sunday, March 10th, with pre-race festivities beginning earlier that week.
For the first time since 1976, motorcycles will return to The Mint and compete on a singletrack course designed to challenge even the most seasoned desert moto racers. The addition of bikes and a second day of racing is expected to draw an even greater pool of race teams and thousands more spectators, once again solidifying the Mint 400 as the biggest and best off-road race on the planet.
Other improvements to the famed contest include moving driver registration to a brand new digital web based format and final in-person registration will move down to the Mint 400 Main Stage area on Fremont Street – making in person verification a breeze during tech and contingency. The media and safety meetings will take place in front of the main stage this year as well.
Race registration for The Mint 400 will first open to all racers signed up for the 2019 Parker 250 or Parker 425 on Tuesday, December 18th at 10:00AM PST at this link. The advanced registration period will last until Friday, January 4th at 10:00am PST – when registration will open to all teams.
All of the marquee Mint 400 events will remain in the same position as previous years including the second annual Mint 400 Desert Clean-Up on Saturday March 2nd. The Mint 400 Legends Rally, and the world famous Mint 400 Vehicle Procession and Dinner of Champions will all return on Wednesday March 6th. Time Trials will remain on Thursday March 7th, along with Day 1 of the Mint 400 Off-Road Festival, including the Driver Meet and Greet, Miss Mint Crowning and Pit Crew Challenge later that night. Then Friday March 8th it’s a second day of tech and contingency and the media and drivers meetings, which will all be held at the Mint 400 Main Stage, and will be open to the public for viewing. Racing will take place Saturday March 9th and Sunday March 10th, from 6am to Midnight, and the drivers awards banquet will take place on Monday March 11th.
Information regarding Tech & Contingency class schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
