The Mint 400 Announces New Volunteer Program for 2020
The Mint 400 today announced a new volunteer program that includes a host of improvements and incentives for both event and race operations volunteers in 2020. The revitalized program is designed to ensure Mint 400 staff and volunteers have the resources and training they need to help produce the safest off-road race in North America.
The Great American Off-Road Race™ expects to utilize over 100 volunteers in support of the 2020 event, including race week activities like the two-day off-road festival on downtown Fremont Street East, and the two days of intense racing action in the Nevada desert on Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th.
The Mint 400 formally invites all current and previous Mint 400 volunteers to return to Las Vegas March 3rd-8th, next year to contribute to both event operations and race operations.

The new Mint 400 volunteer program will improve communication and streamline overall operations prior to, during, and after the event and races. Mint 400 staff will recognize each person’s experience, and carefully track the number of hours and days they volunteer. All volunteers will receive a commemorative 2020 decanter, event t-shirt, and a volunteer specific package, as well as an exclusive post-event brunch after the 2020 race is complete.
To oversee the new program, Mint 400 owners Matt and Josh Martelli have tapped 21-year military veteran and Mint 400 racer/class winner Jason Prichard to serve as the Mint 400 Race Operations Manager. Jason will be responsible for overseeing the volunteer crew, and ensuring that race day course logistics run smoothly. Jason has years of experience as both a volunteer and racer and has contributed to many of the positive changes to the Mint 400 event.
“Having raced The Mint 400 and volunteered at other races myself, I appreciate everyone who invests their time in The Mint 400 and I’m excited about the opportunity to work with such a great group of people who share our passion for off road racing,” Jason said.
“The legendary Mint 400 has a rich history of volunteer support. Our goal is to create a dedicated team of volunteers who will not only elevate the professionalism of the event but have a great time being part of The Mint 400 experience year after year,” said Mint 400 COO, Josh Martelli. “Volunteers are not just the backbone of The Great American Off-Road Race, but the entire sport of off-road racing as well.”
