2025 Mint 400 Pit Information Guide
All pits at The Mint 400 are designated for race teams who are actively racing, and should be used for pitting operations only.
Space is limited, please only use the space you need and make efficient use of the space. We’re all in this together!
Pit Access Requirements - What is needed to enter any pit?
- Waiver Wristbands - Any person entering a pit needs to have a Waiver Wristband.
- Click here to sign the waiver and see onsite waiver wristband pick up locations.
- Pit Access Wristbands - Anyone accessing the pits must have a "Pit Access Wristband" in addition to a "Waiver Wristband". Driver of Record's are required to obtain Pit Access Wristbands for their pit crew members.
- There are three ways to get a Pit Access Wristbands outlined in Step 5 on this page.
- Vehicle Pit Pass - Any vehicle entering a pit needs to have a Vehicle Pit Pass. Pit passes must be displayed on the front windshield, on the upper passenger side of the vehicle window.
- Cars/Trucks – Each Driver of Record will be issued (6) vehicle pit passes at on-site registration for the day you are racing.
- Motorcycles – Each Rider of Record will be issued (4) vehicle pit passes at on-site registration for the day you are racing.
Approved Pitting Locations (3 Pits):
There are three approved pitting locations at The Mint 400. You are not approved to pit anywhere else along the race course.
- Main Pit (Primm, NV)
- Gene Hirst Remote Pit (Jean, NV) - A timing gate is placed here to give you live corrected time updates on the live timing leaderboard.
- Gonzo Remote Pit (Jean, NV) - A timing gate is placed here to give you live corrected time updates on the live timing leaderboard.
Can I camp overnight in the pits?
No - There is no overnight camping in ANY pits. Due to insurance and BLM permit stipulations, camping and pitting must remain separate at The Mint 400. Mint 400 pits are designated for race teams who are actively racing, and should be used for pitting operations only. Spectating is not allowed in the hot pits. If you see someone else camped in a pit, they are not supposed to be there and will be asked to leave to the camping area.
Remote Pit Move In/Out:
- Remote Pit Move In: Approximately one hour before the start of your race.
- Remote Pit Move Out: Immediately after your race concludes.
Main Pit Move In/Out:
- Main Pit Move In: Approximately two hours before the start of your race.
- Main Pit Move Out: Immediately after your race concludes.
Because we require teams to register their pit crew members, all classes may begin moving into Main Pit beginning Wednesday, March 5th at 9am PST. We do this to accommodate larger set ups earlier in the week. UNLTD staff will be onsite to assist you in getting placed. Again - There is no camping overnight. If you are leaving anything parked in the pitting areas, please secure your belongings. The Mint 400 does not accept responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged items in the main pit.
Will Main Pit pit spaces be marked and how big are they?
Pit space will be marked prior to your arrival. You are allotted one pit space per one entry you are pitting.
What is the chase crew speed limit to and from pits?
Pit Crew speed on all dirt roads leading to all pits is 25mph.
General Pit Rules:
- Campfires (or fire of any kind), pets, bicycles, firearms, alcohol, or any illegal substances are strictly prohibited in the hot pit area.
- Minors MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- No Mint 400 participant (driver or crew member) may use or be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other controlled substance while working/competing.
